Estimation of Spatial Groundwater Recharge and Surface Runoff in the Gaza Coastal Aquifer Using GIS-Based WetSpass Model

Assessment of the spatial distribution water recharge and surface runoff is essential for resource management planning. This research evaluates distributions groundwater recharge, flow, evapo-transpiration Gaza coastal aquifer, Palestine in 2020 using WetSpass model integrated with GIS. The ArcGIS tool implemented to create grid maps data, such as temperature, rainfall, wind velocity, potential evapo-transpiration, soil map, land use, topography, gradient, depth. generates computerized yearly evapo-transpiration. model's calibration procedures were by manually altering or changing parameters already included within a predetermined range values. simulated results revealed that average was 42 mm/year, 38 mm/year actual evapotranspiration 268 mm/year. findings would help local stakeholders decision-makers manage resources sustainable effective manner.
